Paul; There were several running in parallel. The EISA was set up to be a dual pin competitor to the MCA, and then Intel came along with the PCI which spawned the VESA as a competitor. Both MCA, EISA and VESA lost that race. The EISA and VESA and PCI all did end runs on MCA and all achieved greater success than MCA. I understand that there will be rambus tech in the SEC, and there will also be chip set integration into the SEC as well. etc etc etc
