I nominate Biotime (BTIM) co-founder Hal Sternberg, citing his postings on his work at transtime.com "Some Thoughts on the Subject of Life Extension". You'll find these "thoughts" extremely entertaining. I haven't looked for similar Segall statements, but I'll post them if I find them.
