NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Dow Jones)--Spyglass Inc. (SPYG) licensed its Device
Mosaic embedded Web browser software to Wind River Systems Inc.'s (WIND)
Tornado for Embedded Internet package, which was unveiled earlier Monday.
In a press release Monday, Wind River said Tornado brings Internet
connectivity to embedded computers like smart phones, network computers,
networked printers, cable modems, web-enabled televisions and more.
Spyglass's Device Mosaic browser has a scalable feature designed to make it
easy to build a custom browser for a full range of embedded devices.
Tornado for Embedded Internet will be available in the third quarter 1997.
Shares of Spyglass were up 7.4%, or 41/64, at 9 1/4 on volume of 211,900.
Wind River Systems provides integrated software development tools.
Spyglass Inc. provides software and services to make devices work with the
World Wide Web.
