Hewitt Associates Deploys PeopleSoft e7.5 Applications Over the Web to 10,000
Users

PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 7, 1999--

Web-enabled Solution Simplifies Access to PeopleSoft Back-Office

Applications and Lowers Total Cost of Ownership

PeopleSoft (Nasdaq:PSFT) today announced that Hewitt Associates LLC, a global
management consulting firm specializing in human resource solutions, has
deployed PeopleSoft e7.5 Time Entry applications via the Web to 10,000 users,
allowing Hewitt to simplify time and billing procedures and lower the total
cost of ownership for PeopleSoft back-office applications.

Hewitt's Web-enabled Time Entry solution allows Hewitt employees to submit
time cards directly via the Web for final invoicing and billing. The solution
is easy to deploy and highly scalable, lowering overall maintenance costs. Its
ease of use virtually eliminates the need for formal training.

"At Hewitt, we have successfully implemented a PeopleSoft Web-enabled Time
Entry application for over 10,000 users," said Perry Cliburn, chief information
officer at Hewitt Associates. "By using a Web-enabled Time Entry application,
we anticipate an environment that will be easily maintainable, meets our
business needs, and has a readily recognizable Web user interface."

Two thousand Hewitt employees accessed PeopleSoft Time Entry and Billing
concurrently via the Web at peak time on a Friday afternoon. A total of 8,000
employees accessed PeopleSoft's applications on the same day. The system runs
on Sun and Informix databases and a Sun application server.
Hewitt will also
implement a Web-enabled Invoicing system to further reduce application
deployment, maintenance, and training costs.

Hewitt has implemented numerous PeopleSoft back-office applications,
including Financials Management, Human Resource Management, Projects, Billing,
and Budgets, as part of a large-scale transition from legacy mainframe systems.

"PeopleSoft customers are implementing Web-enabled solutions now," said Peter
Gassner, vice president and general manager of PeopleTools, PeopleSoft's
technology development division. "Using these technologies today puts customers
in a better position to leverage PeopleSoft 8, since customers will be able to
upgrade their applications using PeopleSoft's Upgrade Wizard."

PeopleSoft e7.5 is a comprehensive, Web-enabled back-office software suite.
PeopleSoft e7.5 delivers multiple options for Web-deployment of PeopleSoft
applications, including the Java client and a Web-deployable Microsoft Windows
client that delivers a powerful, low-maintenance desktop client application.
