That is a good article about Japan's gloomy outlook, but considering how forward looking economic statements are invariably biased to the optimistic side, imagine how bad it will actually end up being. Japan is destined to stay in the dumpster for years to come, and the U.S. seems to be on the same road. The fictitious excitement about semis in the tech sector is BS. I do not know a single person or business acquaintance who is excited about computers or new software these days. They are all yawning about it.

Remember these general axioms, which are all designed to benefit the long side...

1. Economic forecasts are optimistically biased.
2. Earnings forecasts are pessimistically biased.
3. Economic reports are positively biased, but later revised down. (In other words, the GAO bastards eventually tell the truth when it suits them.)
