I think a comparative valuation of Oracle's businesses would lead to the conclusion that Oracle is a great buy at $23. (I don't have the time or the definitive revenue breakdown by segment to do a rigorous piece-wise valuation, nor is this thread the place for it).

I also believe all the other big ERP apps vendors are overvalued at 15x revenue, because Year 2K purchases will be winding down over the next year. So the net is that Oracle has a reasonable to attractive price at $23.

Vantive has one of the best valuations of the enterprise application vendors if it can sustain its growth without any hiccups for next several quarters. Glad to hear of the positive Q4 outlook. It's really hard to imagine that VNTV could miss this quarter, given it's Q4, given the EDS revenue backlog, given the new release in September, etc.
