Catalytic converter theft exploded during the pandemic as the value of the rare earth minerals, platinum and palladium, have gone way up, making the part worth one thousand dollars on the black market. NBC’s Ken Dilanian reports on the national takedown that ended in arrests in eight states, totaling 21 arrests altogether.
