Arun we need to look inside those statistics to understand what happened. For example Buffalo went from 3% Negro to 40 % since 1940 and the population halved. Crime isn't caused by poverty, crime is caused by philosophy. Poverty is caused by crime rather than the reverse. We can debate how much Negro crime is based on DNA and how much on philosophy. Similarly with crime in New York. We'd need to look inside the numbers to see why there was a crime reduction. Maybe criminals were kept in gaol which cut crime.
