Re: a vote of confidence for Microsoft as for Intel. Stratus has been making ultra high reliability machines for years, like Tandem. This is the first I can remember of that type that uses Microsoft. Until Microsoft stops releasing several mandatory patches per month, each of which requires an immediate re-boot of the system to make them effective, it isn't going to be a player in this market. A correctly administered Windows 2000 systems will rarely go more than a few weeks without a re-boot, effectively a controlled system crash, that's required for security patch installation. Dan
