Tenchu's Thoughts: What's a Combat Veteran Doing At A Gay Nightclub Anyway?

(TL;DR - The answer to that question is "None of our fuckin' business.")

A good guy without a gun: How Richard Fierro became the hero of Colorado Springs’ Club Q massacre – New York Daily News (nydailynews.com)

This 15 year Army vet, who achieved the rank of Major, has been to Iraq three times and once to Afghanistan. He probably has some cool stories to share. I also bet that he's had some close encounters with insurgents, IEDs, and other serious risks to his own life. (Those IEDs are no joke, either. They can blow off a soldier's manhood easily.)

So what was this man doing at a gay nightclub? Was he gay himself? Is he a "girlie man"? A sissy? Someone who likes it up the bum?

Doesn't matter to me. (Except in the context of Tenchu's Thoughts, of course, but there's a good reason.)

What matters is that this guy was present when an asshole (who was probably in the closet) showed up and started shooting up the entire club.

This guy demonstrated bravery, skills, and an attitude that, quite frankly, few people could ever demonstrate in such an extremely scary and deadly situation like that.

The funny thing is that many guys, especially veteran-types, don't want to be seen near gay nightclubs like this. They're too scared of being called a "bundle of sticks." They don't want to be seen as "gay" themselves, or a "girlie man," or a "sissy."

But thank God that this vet was at the nightclub when the shooting occurred.

Good Guy Without A Gun? Ackchyually ...

By the way, this wasn't technically a "good guy without a gun," because although the defender wasn't armed initially, he eventually took the asshole's own pistol and used it to pistol-whip him.

In other words, defenders almost ALWAYS need a weapon or other force-multiplier to deal with armed assholes. If the defender isn't carrying one on his or her own person, he or she will have to make do with what's available at the moment.

Speaking of improvised weapons, reportedly the asshole was also subdued by someone kicking him with stiletto heels. Now that's bad ass behavior from a guy who probably has a hot ass.

Of course, a gay nightclub will probably have other items that can be used as improvised weapons, such as handcuffs, chains, whips, spikes, etc.

In any case, the asshole was reportedly hospitalized for a few days because of injuries he sustained while being a fuckin' coward. I think it was the stilettos. If so, we should release photos of his injuries just to discourage anyone else who wants to follow in the asshole's footsteps.
