Zhang,

"And like the Mongols, U.S. troops stood by while Iraqi mobs looted and destroyed artifacts..."

Huh?

Pardon my history, but wasn't it the Mongols that did the looting?

"..the United States is barring international relief efforts for Iraq unless it can control humanitarian workers and administer the distribution of assistance."

Not true, many relief organizations including the UN are refusing to send in aid and jeopardize the safety of their workers until all the fighting and civil disorder can be brought under control.

"The looting and wanton destruction of the Baghdad museum...falls well within the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court for....the issuance of indictments against perpetrators, both Iraqi and American."

Huh? All reports I've read indicate that the looters were entirely Iraqi. Why the veiled suggestion that Americans have been involved? If the author of the article has evidence of this it would certainly be breaking news.

"The fact that looters were permitted to destroy and burn..."

Huh?

No one 'permitted' them. They did it on their own without permission of anyone least of all the Americans. Americans were a bit busy fighting Iraqi and non-Iraqi die-hards in the city at the time of the looting.

It would take me an hour to go through all the veiled suggestions and innuendos in this article. Where do you find pieces like this? I'll bet the author has a long history of knocking USA policies in general and George Bush in particular.
