The crows pecked holes in the felt under the wood shingled roof and with all the rain that year, the roof leaked...a whole area across the length of our bedroom and closet...We saw that brown stain, and thought we'd have to have it painted, but had NO idea that mold was forming...

BUT, until we had the flood in the bathroom, going down to the livingroom ceiling and walls, and the insurance company sent in blowers to dry the carpets, and then brought in cleaners for the drapes and valences to be taken down and cleaned...we then found all the black mold under the two ceiling attached valences.... when the Hazmat folks went to the attic, they found the mold...

Luckily for us, because the insurance company blew the stuff all over the house, the Hazmat people took care of the problems...It IS VERY expensive to do it....

But then we learned why both of us had had so many respiratory illnesses...

So we consider ourselves very lucky!
