Larry, what you fail to consider is that a lot of these short positions are hedged ... some may be writing puts, some may have open calls, some may be long and shorting the box ...

Now, i agree there was a short squeeze from $40 going into $50 ... what puzzles me was the short position actually increased ... then you know what options can do to tame a stock ...
