The focus was to be on the financial crisis and the democrats were saying that McCain was trying to avoid it because of his weakness. McCain was expected to do much worse than he did and perceptions lead viewers to believe that one or the other won. It all depends on who one supports. Of Course, each side as expected immediately declared victory...lol
