One very good point that Dan3 continues to make but gets lost in the shuffle is that AMD's breakeven ASP is much lower than Intel's breakeven.

While I am aware of the host of reasons why this is the case, nonetheless it is probably both true and valid.


While AMD's Break Even ASP may be lower than intel's, Dan's "Numbers" (Cough) are neither "True" nor "Valid". At least not according to Jerry Sanders "Business Model":

Our ASP last quarter was somewhere in the $80 (£49) range. That's really not good enough. We've driven up our volume. Our original business model was to have a $100 (£62) ASP.
