mr mark, sorry - I thought you subscribe to PCWorld. Dell is the only one rated 'outstanding' [for HOME desktops]. IBM, Micron are 'good' and Acer,Compaq,Gateway,HP and Sony are 'fair'. E-machines is 'poor'

I had a Compaq and rate service 'very poor'. [they talked my through fixes until the only way out was complete re-installation of all software - TWICE!]
I still have an E-machine and rate service 'good'.[after 10 months the power supply failed and they sent me a new one. That was my only service call].
