Thanks for the link. The bench mark results make for very interesting reading. They list it by overall performance and they list it by vendor. Hardware and software vendors are also listed separately.

Therefore I am assuming that software vendors get credit for software sales and hardware vendors get credit for hardware sales.

The top performing non clustered server was an Compaq Alpha Server GS 320. The hardware package cost about $6,408,822.00 (I believe). The Alpha Server and 31 add on CPU with related 32 MEM Module and MEM DIM UP comes out to about $2,347,800.00.

When Compaq ends the Alpha manufacturing and replace this with the Itanium, does this mean that a lot of this revenue goes to Intel?
