I think you're giving me way too much credit. Bear markets make fools of all of us to some extent, and complete idiots are completely exposed. Look at this Madoff guy. It was a Ponzi scheme he was running and nobody could see it. "Swimming naked" as Buffett used to say, though I don't think he's particularly sharp these days. Bought back in way too early. Timing really matters these days. Besides, the thread is effective only if it makes us collectively smarter. That's why I like a wide range of opinions (and alas, a wide range of personalities too).
