Did you notice how the premiums collapsed today once the news was out.

By Monday I am sure the Feb 90 puts will be under 2 if the stock remains in the high 90s. Decided to ride it with the naked 100 puts till expiration. Will buy the Feb 90 puts using some of the profits to
protect aganist a market meltdown (dosen't pay to get too greedy, esp since I have been liquidating most of my equity positions through Jan considering the market to be way ahead of itself)

The feature on CNBC last night on SUN was really good. The reporter's said the SUN CFO told him that that investors should be buying SUN even at these levels if they want to participate in Internet related growth, and SUN's valuation is very reasonable compared to Internet stocks.

Some cautionary notes:

Steve Milunovich said that investors must really believe in Internet related growth to buy at these levels. Also mentioned that second half may see some slowing in server sales due to Y2k (opposite of what CFO said). ERP vendors preference of SUN's hardware may be a potential problem since ERP vendors are already seeing a slowdown. He has a buy on the stock.

I think he may be setting up for a downgrade.

Scott, for once did not bash Microsoft, but focused to SUN's position with respect to the Net. The guy who developed Jini was able to explain the concept in rather simple terms. SUN officials were also able to address the issue that Java and Jini are more hype than substance rather effectively.

Happy trading.
