I had the same thing happen to me in the past through Fidelity, I asked them what gives.....they said they always fill the "at market orders first no matter when your limit order was put in.....this seems unfair to me.....the MM or whatever you want to call them can simply ignore your order.....fido says it is NOT first come first serve.......I guess it is just pick and choose....if they don't like your numbers, even though they could easily fill and make money, they ignore it. I thought the whole thing was purely electronic fills. NO !!! I agree with Trufflette.......HOSE JOB !! "I have an offer to buy 100 shares at 96 sitting for the last 10 minutes and its completely ignored.. Sales went off below that which is rather funny.. now trading at 97.."
