Gold Posture Update: We are changing our posture on gold from NEUTRAL to BULLISH. February gold futures (GC/G2 - 279.5) have shot up like a beach ball under water after creating a technical formation known as an "island bottom" on December 10 and 11. Because of the rally in gold futures, the PHLX Gold and Silver Index (XAU - 56.09) climbed back above its 10-month moving average. Finally, we are seeing positive developments on the sentiment front with the put/call open interest ratio for futures options experiencing a major turn last week. This has bullish implications in our opinion.
