Bit growth is the amount of physical memory sold in a period relative to previous periods. Comparable to unit growth. With memory prices down 30% from a year ago, TXN needs to see rapid unit growth to allow revenues to continue to move up. As was stated in a previous post, the key to earnings in memory business is cost reduction as TXN shifts to next generation (64MB) parts.
