Hi Ian. What Deserio and the interviewer overlook is that the proper comparison for deciding whether D's shorting Dell reflected a unique and brilliant insight into the company is the performance of any other tech stock for the same period.

And you know what? With just a couple of exceptions, any of the big techs would have been a good short (in hindsight). Deserio just got lucky and called a major techwreck that hit many stocks, tho admittedly Dell was hurt somewhat more than many.

That hardly qualifies him as a noo gooroo on Dell.
