Anybody knows how TSIG is doing with the TeleCare service that suppose to have been launched back in October. This sounds like a big partnership with Recovery Network and it involves cable, radio, and even Yahoo. See copy of PR below.
SANTA MONICA, Calif.---May 20, 1998-- Recovery Network (NASDAQ: RNET - news) and TeleServices International Group Inc. (OTC BB:TSIG - news) today announced a deal which provides Recovery Network cable television viewers and Recovery Talk Radio listeners an opportunity to call and receive telephonic in-home counseling from a country-wide network of physicians. The deal provides Recovery Network with all the necessary hardware, software, and operator services to direct and traffic calls throughout the continental U.S. The service, entitled TeleCare(TM), is expected to launch in October 1998.
The deal was announced jointly today by William D. Moses, President and CEO of Recovery Network and Robert Gordon, Chairman and Chief Executive of TSIG.
Recovery Network Television currently offers a toll-free helpline linking television viewers in crisis with local resources. The helpline is currently being operated by the Federal agency NCADI (National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information) and is free of charge to callers at 1-800-400-RNET.
''TeleCare(TM) is a natural extension from our current helpline,'' said William D. Moses, President and Chief Executive of Recovery Network. ''We now fulfill the need to those who want to get counseling in the privacy of their own homes. We are providing a cost-effective first step for viewers to enter traditional treatment and recovery programs,'' Moses added.
Gordon said, ''We are pleased to enter into this exciting new partnership with Recovery Network. It makes sense from a people point of view and from a financial standpoint. Not only will this exciting new service help people in the privacy of their own homes, but it will provide the TSIG/Recovery Network partnership with a potentially explosive financial upside.''
Moses added, ''We will bring a 'triple threat' to the marketing of TeleCare(TM), marketing this innovative new service on our television and radio networks, but also on the Internet with our monthly chat rooms extensively promoted by Yahoo. (NASDAQ: YHOO - news)''
The Recovery Network helpline (1-800-400-RNET) will remain free of charge to those with an immediate need.
TSIG is providing equipment and a five year service agreement for operator and line charge services at 80% of competitive rates. In return, TSIG receives 200,000 shares of Recovery Network common stock and 200,000 warrants to purchase shares.
The TSIG call center utilizes state of the art computer technology telephony integration that provides clients with a turnkey solution for their teleservices requirements. TSIG's backbone is a highly redundant Lucant G3, recently upgraded to an R6, which allows up to 24,000 stations, 4,000 trunks and 5,200 agents. The Lucent switch is fully integrated with the MAP Interactive Voice Response System and the EIS Centennium Call Center System complete with Cybernetics Workforce Management Software. The components can share data from the client's master database that may also be tied to a dedicated client website. The above equipment gives TSIG full inbound and outbound capabilities.
''Our business model benefits from the marketing leverage that our cable television and radio networks and their captive audiences provide by obviating the need for media and production budgets, which yields a high revenue/high margin business model,'' Moses noted.
Moses said that the Recovery Network will work closely with its nationally recognized board of advisors to assure quality services for TeleCare(TM).
