Mid-month "bonus" price cut from Intel:

Regular line mobile chip prices cut substantially, by about a third.

Most desktop prices unchanged (this is not a regular monthly price update).

The low speed / less expensive low voltage mobile chips also left unchanged.

Walk into a Best Buy or Circuit City and look at the notebook selection and you'll se why Intel was forced into this unexpected slashing of prices.

But don't worry about the stock price. When Intel gives its guidance tomorrow, those speaking will be blissfully unaware of what's happening to their profit margins.
