I find it interesting that A$ND is up 1 1/2 (up for the fifth straight day) on the same day that C$CO unveils it's "High-Density Universal Access Server". (AS5300) Hmmmm... I wonder why? How 'bout...The AS5300 is nothing more than an AS5200 with denser, more elegant modem technology. It is not even close the the TNT in terms of capacity and I think only equals that of the MAX4000. AS5300 = 4 T1's, TNT = 12 T1's. An awful lot of fanfare from Cisco for just a modest product intro...The modem technology needs to get some credit though. IMO Ascend is behind cisco, bay and coms in modem technology (relying on function-specific chips rather than true dsp-based chips).
