One reason he could not do that, however, is if Hillary is standing by him because she is in denial, and really needs to believe the lies to stay in the marriage. But I have no idea about that, I am just speculating based on logic. Their marriage is one of the world's biggest mysteries.

My own guess is that she stopped caring about his fooling around a long time ago. Either they don't have a sexual relationship, or they have one that she (and maybe he) considers separate from what he gets up to with other women. They've known each other for a long time now, and that alone makes for a certain degree of understanding. No doubt she deplores his taste in females (but doesn't feel threatened by it because they're very different from her), but doesn't become seriously annoyed until he makes a fool of himself. Certainly it's possible that she's had her own affairs (not lesbian, I think), but if so, she's been discreet.

It could well be that most of the time they're fairly good friends. And he may be more dependent on her than many imagine; I'd guess she'd like that.
