In the 2 weeks that you've been trying out the conseal product, have there been attempts to log on to your system?

I can e-mail you a copy of my logs if you want <ggg> ... but seriously, I have been using the ConSeal free trial since Dec. 14th and since then there have been literally dozens and dozens of attempts. Most of these were probably just "scanning" for open ports, not necessarily actual attempts at connection, but nonetheless, people are poking and prodding. Actually, the volume of attempts logged was much higher in the days before Xmas as compared to this last week since Xmas. An obvious sign to me that most of these attempts are by the "kiddies" at home on Christmas break with nothing better to do. After Dec. 25th they're obviously too busy playing with their brand new Sony PlayStations to bother anymore. At any rate, I'm still averaging three or four per day this past week ... it used to be lots more.

As for these attempts being "staged" ... I seriously doubt it. I can't imagine a company investing that much time in me (multiplied by the hundreds if not thousands of others who download their free 30 day trial) to try to convince me to spend $49 for their software. As I said in my previous post, the IP addresses of those making the connection attempt are logged. By doing DNS lookups at random on some of these addresses I can see that they range from locations in Calgary (my home town) to New Jersey, to Phoenix, to Australia and others ... these are obviously real (in my opinion).
