From Corvette Blogger: As far as the constraints go, the only option constrained across the model lineup is the new CF8 Electrochromic Roof which has zero availability. So my question is when was SPD not a contender, given its relationship with the designer Tony Roma? Was SPD spec'd in the earlier development? When and how did Gentex become a contender? Why doesn't Gentex have a working model of its dimming technology? They only showed this animation on its website. When I asked Joe about Gentex EC dimming roof at CES 2025, he said: I saw it last year at CES and it was okay looking but it still had all of the same limitations that EC has which is speed, size dependency and Iris effect. Just don't think Gentex is ready for prime time, but what other supplier could it be? Is Webasto a player here? So not saying that Joe was able to convince GM it could be the supplier, I only know when I asked him about whether Gentex could be supplier, I got no response. Yeah, sure it could be he didn't know for sure or that he did and just didn't want to say so. Not a lawyer, but to me their is "probable cause" to think SPD may still be a possibility, even if it's a long shot. ND
