I've heard it claimed that they where forced to try to crash the checkpoint by threat of other family members being killed.

But then that is someone claiming that they heard from someone else that there was a rumor that people in Iraq had said this. It doesn't add up to a very reliable source to say the least.

Yeah, I am inclined to believe the news story that I posted. Its just too bad.
