Dan Niles of Lehman Brothers

Niles Comments

He expects TXN and CPQ to guide lower for the second half of the year
He is having a hard time agreeing with some on Wall Street, that TXN and CPQ will have double in the third quarter compared to the second
In the case of TXN, he would not be surprised if the company guided to a loss for the third quarter
He thinks the bad news will make the market go lower but not by that much as we have already gotten a lot of bad news in the market
A lot of people are still hoping that we will see a rebound in the second half
He is watching Europe closely and will be watching the MSFT's analyst meeting
The MSFT analyst meeting should be interesting because the company sent some mixed messages; first they saw the June quarter doing well and then they guided lower later on
DELL also was interesting in their comments; they re-affirmed guidance but lowered revenue guidelines to the low end
There is a possibility DELL will pull a MSFT warning, currency conversion and pricing pressure may take the company by surprise when they have to report
If an investor wants to put money in the market immediately, DELL would be a good way to go
Longer term, it would not surprise him for DELL to gain up to 30 to 40% market share
Overall, he recommends patience and waiting till closer to the end of the summer
Right now they are not buying anything specific but AAPL looks interesting because they are selling new products
