Only difference here is that obama is the member of that church and he needs to influence things there in a positive way or be prepared to resign.

Agree with this. We are not aware of all the details hence we cannot conclude that he was not influencing things. All we know is what Limbaugh and Hannity are saying.

Besides, I feel proud that the Civil Rights Act has started to demonstrate success when I see a generation of African Americans in their 40's such as Obama, Jamal and other analysts on TV who are Ivy League educated, very articulate and are very grateful to this society. Time and time again, Obama has said on the stump that it is only in America that the son of a white mother and black father would be where he is today. I have never ever seen him even insinuate what Wright uttered in h is sermons. And many white voters are joining him in his quest for the Presidency.

Ask yourself, if he sat in the sermons of Rev. wright for 20 years (as they say), the why is it that he has gone to Selma and other black congregations and glorified the US of A.

While I commend you for your interest in a Democratic candidate in spite of being a Republican, I would also implore to not let your emotions get the better of you but instead think with your head.

Writing this hurriedly from the airport while I wait to catch a flight.
