i just read some of these threads on intcw. i have owned intcw since intc was at 60 or so. i have used it as a way to play intc. it alloed me to own more shares. it's price action is almost 1 to 1. this argument of whether one is borrowing money at 3-4% or 5-6% (or losing 3-4% or 5-6% of the price action had one owned intc rather than intcw) is absolutely irrelevant since both are up >100% in the last year. It is simply a cheaper way of owning intc. you can also write covered calls against intcw--which is something i have done over and over again.

the bottom line is that if you are still bullish on intc in 3/98, you can exercise and avoid the cap gains. if your not, then you sell the warrants outright and pay the tax on any gain--just like you would have to pay if you had owned intc over the same time period.

however, i don't understand why one thinks there i going to be short squeeze in 3/98
