Hi JWA: Have you read the June 8, 1998 issue of Fortune Magazine? Under the topic MICROSOFT: Scariest Company in the World. It seems that they probably did dd on drxr's patents and assets (they are smart workaholics by all accounts), and probably decided that their patents were not broad enough (msft product different enough), or drxrs pockets not deep enough to fight infringement (msoft does not know the meaning of the word share). Drxr's offer of license with no penalties seems graceful and politic, but do 800 lb gorillas understand subtlety? All of this is rampant speculation of the most irresponsible kind, of course. leso
