I agree - most of the bottles I buy are in the $8 - $12 range. I usually drink these myself -- a glass or two at night during the week. I have found that Australia Shiraz and Shiraz-Cabernet offer some excellent values in this range.

However, my favorite everyday wine is Clos du Bois Cabernet, Alexander Valley. Prices vary but you can usually dinf it for around $12-13 -- if you get a case at store that offers case discounts, it is IMO a truly great value.
