WED/19 DEC - BIG NEWS - Compromise reached on stimulus package! From Briefing.com "10:12 ET Stimulus Package : President Bush announces that Congress has reached a compromise on the stimulus package. This is good news for the market, though it is not particularly surprising and the package will not offer much in the way of near-term economic relief." This is the only thing I can think of that has brought the market back from what promised to be a fairly ugly session. I am not sure how much this will move the market UP, but it may prevent what I was almost certain would be a fairly ugly day.
