actually search has consolidated... there aren't a whole lot of SEs anymore...

For example Overture bought out Altavista and Alltheweb and folded into the yahoo search when Yahoo bought out Overture.
They now have Yahoo's search results. Hotbot/Inktomi also bought by Yahoo.
