United Dominion Industries Limited - Acquires TIF Instruments

United Dominion Industries Ltd. announced the acquisition of TIF Instruments, Inc., a Miami,
Fla., manufacturer of test and measurement instruments used primarily by professional
tradespeople in the HVAC, refrigeration, automotive and electrical markets. Terms were not
disclosed.
With annual sales of approximately $18 million, TIF Instruments also manufactures other
products to serve the HVAC/Refrigeration systems including scales, air flow balancers,
thermometers, refrigerant analyzers, vacuum pumps, gauges and leak detectors for carbon
monoxide and combustible gases.
TIF will become part of United Dominion's Amprobe operation, a business unit of Core
Industries acquired by United Dominion this summer. Amprobe, headquartered in Lynbrook,
N.Y., is a leading manufacturer of electrical testing equipment, refrigerant recovery machines,
and other portable tools for the electrical and HVAC/Refrigeration markets.
United Dominion manufactures proprietary engineered products for customers worldwide. The
company employs 10,500 people at 68 plants in 16 countries.
