The interesting thing about the Compumed story is that their technology is attractive to a wide spectrum of companies whose approaches to osteoporosis and arthritis require accurate evaluation of the effects are their drugs. As noted, they've likely learned their lesson with Merck and will be predisposed to negotiate more favorable marketing agreements with the new system - especially in light of its significantly advanced technology.
