(COMTEX) MCDONALD'S CREDIT CARD ATTRACTS 7,000 APPLICANTS IN JAPAN MCDONALD'S CREDIT CARD ATTRACTS 7,000 APPLICANTS IN JAPAN TOKYO, July 6 (Asia Pulse via COMTEX) -- More than 7,000 women applied to receive McJoy Club credit cards offered by McDonald's Co. (Japan) Ltd. in the 10 days since June 20, when Japan's leading hamburger restaurant chain started issuing a card exclusively for female customers. The company expects to issue 30,000 cards in the first two months, given the faster-than-expected application pace. The restaurant chain originally expected to issue 30,000 cards in the first year. The annual fee for the credit cards, which is offered in conjunction with JCB Co., Visa International Inc. or MasterCard International Inc., is covered by McDonald's (Japan). The company offers cardholders special discounts for McDonald's products as well as classes such as flower arrangement.
