I reread your post #1376.

"Do you think that attorneys (who will have to try these things one state at a time, because there is no breach of federal law) will press hard when they will only have a shot at single damages? Not hardly. "

It is filled with many errors such as above. If words have meaning you cannot deny that the thrust of your post is that the threat of suits are over. ("Bears, this was brilliant brinksmanship. You blinked.") They go on and Federal class actions are being pursued.

Furthermore, your mindset appears limited to legal issues. What I tried to relate to you is the larger picture, i.e., the public relations battle that AOL is losing BIG TIME is ultimately far more important than any monetary award they will be forced to pay.

AOL is becoming synonymous with consumer ripoff, lousy/unreliable service, arrogance and management ineptitude. AOL is becoming the butt of jokes, e.g. Letterman & Leno. That image was always there but is now being cast in stone. It has come to the point where the media reports an esteemed University professor is teaching marketing classes using AOL as a case study model in poor management!

Brinksmanship? AOL headCase is no John Foster Dulles.

Reread your post and think before you spout and put your ignorance on display.

Regards
