One assumption I'm making is that the North and South magnetic poles will wind up at antipodes. And, what you describe closely approximates the positions I arrived at.
Using the antipode map, type in Mussau Island. Then zoom out on both frames. That's the closest land mass to where I think magnetic South will wind up. Magnetic North would be opposite that.
