I can tell you about the hazards of wooden pallets. 1st off the splinters can be downright Nasty. And they will come apart on occasion. I was operating a forklift about 20 yrs. ago working at a produce wharehouse. There were a couple of guys loading heavy sacks of potatoes onto a wooden pallet. When they finished loading I went to pick up the pallet and move it into the wharehouse and guess what? It busted up. All that hard work for not. The worst part was ,I had to reload it onto another pallet. The guys that oringinally loaded it had already left in their truck. I woke up the next morning with an extremly sore back.To this day, Everytime I look at potatoes I feel a little twinge in the middle of my back. I say go with plastic!!

Regards
