BULLETIN: IE 4.0 bug found www5.zdnet.com

A timeless headline of course, but a short story.

Software security group L0pht Heavy Industries reported a bug in Microsoft Corp.'s Internet Explorer 4.0 Suite. The bug can cause something as innocuous as a page fault, but can also be exploited to run precompiled code on the user's machine. The security hole is caused by file names longer than 255 characters. Microsoft is aware of the problem, and is gathering more information. An explanation of the bug can be found at l0pht.com. -- Robert Lemos, ZDNN

But, since Microsoft knows about it, it's not a bug, it's a known issue. All you got to do is combine this with that exciting new Pentium bug, you got a real neat deal on your hands.

Cheers, Dan.
