It takes the New York Times dozens of paragraphs to get to the point that Louisiana Governor Blanco resisted even allowing a hybrid command structure with the U.S. military. But resist she did. And just imagine the outrage if President Bush had stepped over a white female Democratic governor in a situation like this. "He's a cowboy from Texas, and he's also sexist," would be the line from the left.
