That depends upon the Motherboard you are using.

If by chance you have an Intel i815E motherboard (D815EEAL/EEA2, etc.), the BIOS recognizes the CPU on boot up - Celeron or Pentium III - and configures the MB accordingly - no muss, no fuss.

If you don't have an Intel Motherboard, better check your MB Manual and documentation.
