MEM technology has had a huge impact on infrared imaging technology. Look for references to microbolometer imaging arrays or devices.

However, MEM technology is inherently silicon based due to the magic relationships between the silicon/SiO2 physics and chemistry.

I can't see any advantage in MEMs for SiC and a number of technological showstoppers.

Cree should focus on AlGaN/SiC optoelectronic devices and to a lesser extent power switching devices. That is where the payoff is.
