MICROSOFT's STRATEGY---

Public Relations is more important than the outcome of this case. If they can maintain good public support
(80 %), go ahead settle this darn this thing. Include the Netscape Browser. Since AOL took over Netscape, the browser inclusion in Windows will be meaningless. Other ISPs are not going to use an AOL browser (a direct competitor). NOW THE SALE OF MSFT'S ISP BUSINESS MAKES BUSINESS SENSE. As it won't compete with ISPs, the AT&T and other ISP's will use the Internet Explorer.
Now the AT&T --MSN rumor makes sense to me.

I think the DOJ is lobbied by the competitors to drag this case on. They don't want DOJ and MSFT to settle. A settlement would improve the company's "approval rating". If MSFT dumps the MSN Internet Access service, IE will become the dominant browser everywhere.

I would say settle first and then dump the ISP business.
