I am not SI members in Japan but have paid some attention on Japan's
economic situation. Based on the last report from French news, the
pc sales in Japan in '98 will increase 7%. Besides, Japan's new
fisical year starts from April 1, which will boost new buying from
schools and government. I wouldn't worry about Japan's market this
quarter since it should be a lot better than the previous one (the
slowest quarter in Japan, January - March).

As U.S. dollar is getting stronger, the U.S. bonds as well as stocks
are more attractive to Japanese investors. Fidelity Japan received
more than 40% of injected money from Japanese since January, '98.
