When I saw where the fires were in San Diego, I called my Daughter. She just bought a new place in Poway, covered with 300 year old Live Oak Trees. They moved in a week ago. The fires are to the North and South of her and the house is safe if the winds don't pick up.

Her Husband left for San Francisco last night on "the last plane out of San Diego." They closed the Airport right after he left. So she took the kids and is staying with friends in Town. She says the fires are in the boondocks and basically unfightable at the moment.

She would not mind so much rebuilding the old house on the property, it's the trees she doesn't want to lose.
